Yi Peng Floating Lantern Festival Guided Tour
This amazing itinerary around Thailand will explore Bangkok and Chiang Mai with the opportunity to add Phuket if you would like! A guide will show the group around Bangkok to see the Grand Palace and floating market. When in Chiang Mai, you will experience the incredible Lantern Festival, thus experiencing an integral part of the culture. You will receive a Premium Ticket for the festival taking place at Mae Jo University. Numerous sky lanterns, adorned with lights, are released and ‘float’ up into the sky. The sky lanterns are called khom loi in Thai language, which means floating lanterns. The khom loi are made of rice paper, stretched over a bamboo frame, with a candle attached. The hot air of the candle is trapped inside and makes the lantern rise from the ground. You will also have the opportunity to chat with local monks, offer alms, see temples, and visit an elephant conservation camp when in Chiang Mai.
