Santorini, officially Thira, is a small Greek island in the southern Aegean Sea. It is part of the Cyclades islands.  The island is most known for the Akrotiri archaeological site and its flourishing wine industry. The two main towns on the island of Santorini are Fira and Oia, which cling to cliffs above an underwater caldera.
