The event began with the official naming ceremony of the Viking Jupiter by her godmother Sissel. Viking Jupiter is the newest addition to Viking's fleet of ocean ships. This all-veranda ship will hold 930 guests. She is scheduled to sail some great itineraries, such as a 15-day Viking Homelands cruise from Stockholm to Bergen, a 10-day Mediterranean cruise from Venice to Athens, and a South America & Chilean Fjord cruise that spans 18 days from Buenos Aires to Santiago, along with many other exciting itineraries!

Viking is working hard to continue expanding their ocean fleet, as they announced 6 more ocean ships are ordered and under construction!
During this exclusive event, Viking announced the official launch of Viking Expeditions! Viking will begin exploring the Arctic, Antarctica, and the Great Lakes region in the 2022 cruise season. They currently have 2 expedition ships under construction, the Viking Octantis and the Viking Polaris. Both new polar class ships will hold 378 passengers, and they will be designed to operate during summer & autumn in medium first-year ice.
Their new Arctic itinerary is a 13-day, roundtrip adventure from Tromsø. You will sail from Tromsø to the western coast of Svalbard and experience the beauty of the Arctic, where polar bears reign and blue ice floats on the horizon. Experience this frozen tundra, dramatic fjords and remote human settlements on this itinerary.
In Antarctica, there are itineraries ranging from 13 days to 19 days. Leave straight from Buenos Aires to Antartica to explore the Antarctic peninsula. Witness towering glaciers, snow-covered landscapes, immense icebergs and once-in-a-lifetime wildlife viewing. Or extend the cruise and discover more of South America by stopping in ports like Montevideo, Buenos Aires, and Rio de Janeiro.
Lastly, explore the Great Lakes region with cruises from 8 days to 13 days. Hop the Great Lakes with an itinerary starting in Milwaukee and ending in Thunder Bay to experience the maze of granite islands that comprise the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve while hiking and kayaking, the Victorian charm on Mackinac Island, and the coastal wetlands that are filled with birdlife, cobbled beaches, and native cultures of the northern Great Lakes. For a longer journey, start in New York City and cruise the Atlantic as well as the Gulf of St. Lawrence, through the Seaway Locks, to Toronto.
Viking also offers a very unique itinerary that combines the polar regions in a 44 day itinerary from Tromsø to Ushuaia. Begin in the Arctic and sail all the way to Antarctica.
